NewSong performs on Kutless’ One True God tour. You may know them as the band that wrote “The Christmas Shoes”, but they are so much more. NewSong has 20 number #1 songs, are a Grammy Nominee and originated WinterJam.

Yeah…sure, NewSong has a long list of credentials associated with them, but more impressive is hearing and seeing them perform live. They are all multi-talented. Throughout the evening lead vocals switched from Billy Goodwin to Russ Lee to Matt Butler; guitarist Rico Thomas not only played guitar but also pulled out a banjo and if Matt Butler didn’t have enough to do with singing, he also played the keys and cello. Pretty darn impressive if you ask me!

Lens: Nikon 50mm 1.8, Nikon 80-200mm 2.8, Tamron 17-50 2.8
The lighting was a little on the darkside at least shooting at ISO 1600, but the cool thing is that if you shoot RAW files you can actually push the exposure up in LightRoom 3 without much penalty (maybe 1.5 stops max). I’m told, though that with my Nikon D7000 I should be able to shoot at ISO3200 and still be able to print a nice 8×10. I think I’ll try that next show. It may give me the ability to capture a little more light and possibly even use a higher shutter speed. I’m usually at about 1/160.

Comments, Feedback, a +1 maybe?
