This is my third time photographing Kutless and they just get better every-time! The first time I covered them, Kutless was on the Casting Crowns tour.
A full image set after the break…

As I said.. the first time I saw Kutless was on Casting Crowns Until The Whole World Hears tour. That’s a night I’ll never forget, as I took my mom to her first concert.

Thats my 64yr old mom hanging with Nick and James for a photo opp!
but I digress…
This was the first time I had the honor of spending a lot of time backstage with them. And yeah, their music is rawkin and they have their set down and tight, but Kutless is so much more then just music. They spend a lot of time backstage talking to their families, and hanging and being silly with their crews. They love their fans so much that every show night they stay at their signing table till every single fan that wants to say hello get the chance to…even if they are there till late after the show. They are truly a special group of men.
Camera: Nikon D7000
Lens: Nikon 50mm 1.8, Nikon 80-200mm 2.8, Tamron 17-50 2.8
The lighting was a little on the darkside at least shooting at ISO 1600. Especially trying to make photographs of madman guitarist Nick DePartee.. he’s just all over the place and shooting at 1/160 he’s a tough one to photograph (not that bassist Dave Luetkenhoelter is any easier to photograph).
I think the key is learn you gear as best as you can! Especially the limitations. I don’t have all pro stuff, not that I would turn it down if someone wanted to make a donation
. You have to know your gear well enough so that you shoot with in it limitations. Trust me you’ll be much happier with the photographs you make.

Comments, Feedback, a +1 maybe?
Let me know what you think.
