Closing out the evening and the first night of The Shelter tour, headliners Jars of Clay perform on the alter of the World of Life Ministries church in Greensburg PA.

Man, this was a great set! I’ve never seen them live before but have been a fan for years. All the way back to their self-title release.. it was really a great night to see all these artists.
Shooters Notebook:
Cameras: Nikon D80 and Nikon D7000
Lenses: Nikon 80-200 f2.8, Tamron 17-50 f2.8, Nikon 50 f1.8
I love shooting with the Nikon D7000, but I have to admit it’s still gonna take some time to really get used to it after the D80. One of the key’s to shooting concerts is knowing your gear inside and out. This lets you change focus point, ISO, and shutter speed in moments to get the shot. I’m still not there yet and found myself a little flustered from time to time getting the shot. It’s just the placement of the controls, especially focus point still feels weird and un-natural. Fortunately this was a show where I could shoot 3 songs up front and then shoot the rest of the night from anywhere else in the house. This really helped get my “good image” quotient up and bring you these images and others that we be posted over at NewReleaseTuesday.com next week with my review.
… I think the next shows I’ll be leaving my D80 at home until I learn the D7000.
Hope you all don’t mind that I end with this photo..[I know, it could be anyone].. it was just one of those frames that was just too cool not to post.
