The David Crowder* Band… What more is there to say.. This was another band I’ve never seen live before and they we’re really something. I stumbled on one there records right before we left for Creation and I thought..yeah, these guys have some pretty cool music.. I really wasn’t quite expecting what I got from them live.

The David Crowder* Band is incredibly creative using the old style video game themes and mixing them into their music, such as the old Mario brothers and other chirps and quacks. The most amazing thing is it actually works musically. They are amazingly creative. A blast to watch on stage.. but David what is up with that hair & beard dude? …
Shooters Notebook:
David Crowders set was easier to shoot as they performed just as it was getting dusk. So there was still plenty of ambient light as well as the stage light to make exposure much easier to deal with.
I wish I was in better control of my camera, but live and learn.. I shot everything with my Nikon 80-200 due to stage height (was my only f2.8 lens) at about ISO640 f2.8 and shutter speeds around 1/400 – 1/6000.
The extreme variations in shutter speed was due to the fact I was shooting in aperture priority. Since this event I’ve been trying diligently to follow Todd Owyoung’s (www.ishootshow.com) advice to learn to shoot in total manual mode.
