So… Ever Been to the Creation Festival?
This was my first time, even though it’s pretty much in my own backyard.. I know, I know, I don’t get out much.
If you want to sample a ton of bands, be part of about 70,000+ people, this is the place.. unless of course you need a shower everyday or don’t like the heat ![]()
My wife and I went up to cover the event and it was really an amazing experience… Imagine 70,000+ plus people rockin out to Jesus music… yep, Jesus music. Creation is a celebration, a huge party of people not celebrating the bands, but rather joining their favorite bands celebrating the person of Jesus. Freeken’ amazing experience!
If you want to read the actual review you can do that at NewReleaseTuesday.com, my wife who’s a great writer wrote it.

I am serious about the showers and heat.. but I was lucky enough to get a hotel room… and showers, maybe 20 years ago when I was actually young I could go days without one
… but the showers… man the lines were brutal.. Talking to a few people, they said they were getting up at like 4am to get one and the lines weren’t too bad..thats crazy..
I got to cover a ton of bands, and so many I never actually heard before..Like BarlowGirl, sure I knew the name, but had no idea how much they rocked out.. and how many times do you get to see an all girl band, not to many of them around. They did a great job.
Shooters Notebook:
ah, shooting in daylight… it’s a wonderful thing!
I was able to shoot around 400 – 640 ISO… I still stayed in the f2.8 range because I wanted to shoot as fast a shutter speed as I could and maintain control over the background. Shutter speed was often somewhere around 250th..
